Sculpture outdoors

islands again, 2010

5 natural boulders: granite, gneiss and basalt. Placed in and around a pond at Lelkendorf, near Rostock, Germany. Made during the sculpture symposium Lelkendorf, August 2010. Largest stone: 85 x 70x 30 cm. Photos: S.v.Halem & H.v.Zadelhoff

Stone shapes the landscape, IS the landscape: solid component of the ground on which we are standing. These boulders have a turbulent history; they came with the ice, from the north, from the islands.
